You've probably noticed the new site slider as it sticks out quite well. You'll be able to get a custom banner for your game for a flat rate of 10$/month. To get your ad placed all you have to do is message me and we'll work out the rest of the details. It's nice to be able to pay, however, we'll be choosing some games that catch our attention and putting them up there for free.
This will be known as the featured games banner, a sort of incentive for members to try their best to maintain their game development in the hopes of having it placed in the featured games spotlight. What's better than seeing your own ad each time you visit the site? Well, I suppose just about everyone else who visits seeing the same thing.
Here are some site statistics using google ad-sense/performance reports. Roughly 10-12k views per week average of about 3-4$ per week.
Hey everyone, I know I haven't been very consistent with updates and you haven't heard much on the Java engine. I've taken some advice from a few members in a recent skype chat, we've made some new plans and hopefully I can bring better news to you later. Just wanted to share this with y'all!
We've placed Jaxx on the development team as his engine will head to the front as the official supported engine, more about this will be explained in another topic. This will help us by giving us time to work on the Java engine while Jaxx pushes out consistent updates with his engine. Thank you all.
Hi, short and simple we're short handed on staff and could use more help moderating the forums. The site activity has increased slightly, however there's not many staff members on the roster atm, but the ones who are here could use some help. If you're planning to apply we're fully aware that you're volunteering, but you're taking on a responsibility as well and we'd like you to treat it as such. We're looking for people who won't abuse their power, have some experience or back ground with moderating/programming and are good with interacting. You'll need to be able to hand out justice without bias.
Be aware at times your job can be boring, during those times it means your job is being done right and members are behaving well. If you don't have time to dedicate to this position in some consistent manner, this is not for you. If you're accepted and quit and or you're kicked from the team there will be no do-over and you'll never have a chance at a position here again. You'll need to be some form of mature and vigilant for rule breaking. You'll need to participate in cleaning up topics as well as being prepared to handle forum organization at a minimal level.
As for developers most of that above applies to you, however you'd be involved in developing a stable engine.
The current position openings : Moderator Developer Web developer
You'll create a form and message me directly, you can use the following as a guideline to filling out an application:
What position are you applying for?
If Developer/Web Developer what languages do you program in?
Reason for joining:
Amount of time you can put towards the site:
What would you do if one of your friends broke the rules?
How long have you been here at Eclipse?
The above is what you can use as a guideline to filling out an application. Message me, Link, directly here on eclipse or on skype (Zarachi6)

Hello community, everyone has been unbanned. This was not something I wanted initially however I think it's only right. I have not any resentment towards those banned in the past. This is not a let's change for the better speech rather with the new site and different goals amongst the owners we feel there is no need to keep you banned due to rulings of our predecessors, your slate starts here and now, do with this what you will. I'm not going to give a bull crap speech about how we should all hug and get along, that's just not going to happen. We have different goals for the site and I won't be throwing them out there but instead focusing on making them happen, just expect change for better or worse. If you're curious stick around and find out.
We have already started the changes that will lead towards where we aim to take this community. It was a bumpy start but things are starting to settle. This is only the beginning of what is to come and we hope you will venture with us through these changes as they happen. Our focus is providing as many resources as we can to the individuals that joins this community and that is exactly what we will continue to do. We wont be able to please everyone and there is only so much we can do at a time so we ask for your continued patience as things move forward.
In any case, the purpose of this topic is to inform you guys that we have recently partnered with the team responsible for a tool known as GameBuilder which is entering its beta testing phases soon. As a community, game development is our focus and that means all forms of game developments. We are hoping to give current and future members a bridge to explore various forms of game development beyond just rpgs, mmorpgs, etc. This is one of many partnerships we hope to form in the coming months to provide a variety of different platforms and tools to this community to have quick communication with the developers behind the tools as well as getting the chance to be involved in something pretty awesome.
Robert Cornwall is the representative within this community that will be responsible for helping you all and communicating with you about this tool and how you can get into the beta. There will be a board made dedicated to Game Builder IO for all your questions, requests, etc. Below is their mission.
Quote:We believe that great content can speak for itself. Regardless of experience, budget, or platform, making a game requires creativity and insight into the user’s mind. It unites diverse developers in the pursuit of engaging, entertaining, and enthralling players.
That’s why we created GameBuilder - the first mobile platform that lets anyone create and publish mobile games all from their phone. Whether you are making your first game for your friends, or a seasoned professional looking for rapid prototyping and customer feedback, you can accomplish it in GameBuilder. With the support of the developer community, we can open the doors to the next generation of game developers and allow anyone to make truly great content.
We are pleased to venture with them on this mission along with this community and we hope you will all be good supporters in helping this platform reach its potential.
You may read more information about the platform here.
